Modern Warfare 3

LA Times is reporting that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be hitting shelves this coming November 2011, despite all of the legal issues surrounding the series and Infinity Ward.

Activision has quietly tapped Sledgehammer Games, a Northern California studio, to help out with the making of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, according to people familiar with the situation. The game has not been officially announced by Activision. But the title is well into production and is expected to come out in November, the same month that the publisher has annually released a new Call of Duty installment, people with knowledge of situation said. Modern Warfare 3 will be the first game Infinity Ward has produced since the departure of of company co-founders Jason West and Vince Zampella.

People close to the matter said Infinity Ward is working closely with Sledgehammer, which is led by a team recruited away from Activision's rival Electronic Arts Inc. The two studios are equally sharing duties of producing the single-player portion of the game, the sources said.

Activision has also brought in Wisconsin-based Raven Software, which is working on the online multi-player elements for Modern Warfare 3, sources said.

The Mechinist

A MUST WATCH MOVIE

Trevor Reznik is a lathe-operator who suffers from insomnia and hasn't slept in a year. Slowly, he begins to doubt his sanity as increasingly bizarre things start happening at work and at home. Haunted by a deformed co-worker who no one seems to think exists, and an ongoing stream of indecipherable Post-It notes he keeps finding on his fridge, he attempts to investigate what appears to be a mysterious plot against him and, in the process, embroils two women in his madness.

The Machinistis a brilliantly made film . Starring Christian Balein a stunning and powerful performance, The Machinist is a real workout for your brain that will leave you feeling drained by the time the conclusion rolls around.

Trevor Reznik (Bale) is not your every day man. For starters, he is emaciated beyond belief, weighing in at about 120 pounds. There's also the fact that he hasn't slept in a year. Insomnia to the fullest. After a horrible exchange with a co-worker (Michael Ironside), we see him begin to doubt everything from the loyalties of his friends to his own existence.

Autopsy

Review By : Amiya Ranjan Chakraborty

NOT SO IMPRESSIVE

Emily Johnson, her boyfriend Bobby and their friends Clare and Jude are recent college grads driving cross-country, taking a last vacation together before they face the "real" world. An accident leaves them hurt and stranded on a lonely Louisiana road. When the ambulance arrives, it whisks them to Mercy Hospital. The staff is conducting inhuman experiments on helpless patients under the instruction of Dr. Benway, a direct descendant of the infamous New Orleans family that committed atrocities in the 19th century.

Well I was not expecting much from this movie, the plot was not so much impressive and is pritty straight-forward and basic. Though the movie has a pritty weak story line the movie still has some tense moments.

There are major plot holes every five minutes For example, Emilgot a hole in the head, managed to escape from the scrub, and we won't told about that ever. she doesn't seem to feel pain when she runs nowhere in the hospital. who cares?

The cop comes to check the hospital, theoretically closed 3 years ago, but it doesn't bother him.

My Rating 5/10.

Unthinkable

Review By : Amiya Ranjan Chakraborty

REALLY UNTHINKABLE

You don't wanna watch this movie if you are too sensitive. This movie is a story of a white American muslim, who claims to have planted three nuclear bombs in large cities of the US, threatening to kill millions. He is interrogated and tortured by an 'agent' who uses every possible mean to crack him into revealing the location of the bombs. It's a hard and brutal 'game', which challenges ever possible definition of right and wrong, as well as lawful versus criminal behaviours: how far would you go, based on a 1% chance the the bombs really exist and may kills millions, to protect those? And when even the most brutal acts of torture don't break your subject, what becomes the next 'unthinkable' boundary of human decency, which marks the difference between the terrorists and the order?

The scenes in the movie are really intense and won't recommend anybody to watch this movie that can't stand gory movies. Some of the scenes are so intense that you, yourself would want to jump into the movie and stop what is happening. The directors really did a commendable job in making this movie so well. The main roles were well defined and couldn't have asked better from these fine actors. Some of the scenes I would totally disagree with and thought the director could have done without them to save this movie to be released only on DVDs .On the other hand I think removing those scenes wouldn't have brought the intended message that the director wanted to give. But really it was one sided message and there could have been different message given in the end, like what if the person revealed the complete information but torturing continues since the person who is torturing thinks there is more to come. Actually I was relieved in the end that some of the scenes in the end that I thought may have happened didn't happen.

MSI launches its GTX 460 Cyclone cards

MSI has rolled out a total of four graphics based on the GTX 460 GPU. All of the cards feature MSI's Cyclone dual-slot cooler and use military class components. In addition to two reference clocked cards, MSI has also rolled out two identical ones but with a slight factory overclock.

The new MSI GTX 460 Cyclone card will be available in 768MB/192-bit or 1GB/256-bit version and while reference ones are clocked at 675MHz for the GPU, 1350MHz for those 336 CUDA cores, the OC series works at 725MHz and 1450MHz. All four version have a 3600MHz clocked GDDR5 memory.

The Cyclone cooler features two heapipes and a 90mm fan and according to MSI should be up to 15.7 percent quiter than the reference card. The cards should also be a bit cooler but bear in mind that this one keeps the hot air mostly inside the case as it has no plastic shroud, rather than to push it out of the case.

The 'default' GeForce GTX 460 editions have the GPU running at 675 MHz and the memory clock at 3600 MHz.

The Cyclone GTX 460 OC model on the other hand, flexes the GPU muscle all the way up towards a semi at 725MHz, the shaders to 1450 MHz and the GDDR5 to 3600 MHz (effective).
